“Having known Rachael and Autumn for many years I knew the inaugural SupercarGB event “Route Pyrenees” was going to be extraordinary, but in the end everyone agreed it was possibly one of the very best car tours we had ever been on! From day one, in the eternally glamorous Hotel Du Palais in Biarritz and despite the Atlantic weather on the day, the start of the event was like old friends getting back together, with a relaxed atmosphere and enthusiasm for the superb driving ahead.
During the course of the week Rachael had once again found staggeringly beautiful and empty driving roads that zig-zagged across the Pyrenees from French to Spanish sides, whilst also finding the most amazing hotels. I have to mention two hotels that will always remain in my memory, the legendary Les Pres d’ Eugenie http://www.michelguerard.com where Rachael had persuaded their worldwide renowned owner and chef to host our party and entertained our pallets with the most amazing Michelin Star evening’s dinner.
The second at the Hotel du Cite at Carcassonne, http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-8613-hotel-de-la-cite-carcassonne-mgallery-collection/index.shtml with the cars allowed to enter the hallowed walls of the ancient citadel where we lined up for the infamous group photo!
Rachael had even created a special entry for a few laps of the superb Pau Arnoud circuit and in the middle of a national Motorbike race meeting. So despite initial concerns of the mainly British tour entrants, we were welcomed with amazing warmth and French passion from the biker fans who shouted their support for our drivers on a few hot laps of the challenging circuit, capped off with fantastic hospitality from the circuit owners. http://www.circuit-pau-arnos.fr
To end an amazing week’s driving with all cars completing the full 5 days, we arrived (some even with their own Police convoy escort) in the Beautiful Barcelona where we were hosted until the early hours by the “W” Hotel. A suitably modern hotel to end a suitably new style of Supercar tour.
So to Supercar owner’s of all ages, whether its a classic or a modern car, I can whole heartedly recommend the SupercarGB events and I cannot wait for next years Route Dolomites”
